My name is Jiza (pronounced with a long i). Photographer and a natural contemplative on things beautiful and lovely. What I love most about photography is the ability to capture what otherwise would have been a fleeting moment and then be able to create it into a tangible memory. As a wife & mother, I know how quickly those milestones, those organic moments, those little treasured details can just flash by before your eyes.
When you look at photographs, it sometimes can feel like time stopped. You may remember an emotion, a sense, or a person. No matter what desert you may be enduring in life, photography has a way of bringing to mind the people who you love and specific activities which brought you joy. I discovered that what I wanted to do was to capture everything that makes this life a human experience. These are moments that help build a life story, and I want to celebrate them through photography.
Olive and Cypress was crafted and inspired by the Book of Isaiah, Chapter 41:
I will put in the desert
the cedar and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive.
I will set junipers in the wasteland,
the fir and the cypress together,
so that people may see and know,
may consider and understand,
that the hand of the Lord has done this,
that the Holy One of Israel has created it.
We were created and placed on this earth with people and with these experiences for a greater purpose. Let’s celebrate life!
